The films I will be analysing will be:

• Frakenstein 1931
• Victor Frankenstein 2015

Frakenstein was released in 21st November 1931 by Universal Pictures, the Director Carl Laemmle Jr. The Film was based on Mary Shelleys Book Frakenstein

Unit 26.1 – Film Studies

Feminism theory: Divergent

Narrative:

In a divided, war torn world, Tris discovers her abilities and brands with For to resist a sinster plot against those like them 

Director: Neil Burger

I have considerd Divergent as a feminist film as they have a strong female lead. As she is a charater with a motive she ends up finding love while pretending she is like that faction, she is supposed to be in. 

The casts: 

Tris is acted by Shailene Woodley

Four was acted by Theo James 

Christina is acted by Zoé Kravitz 

These roles are all important as each of them helps build up the storyline in a individual and subtle way. There are more charaters but these are the most important ones. 

Beatris(tris) is the female lead and it is based on her her perspective and views of the story. She then meets a friend (Christina) at the begning and stay by each others side throughout the enertirty of the the movie, these is promoting girl power. Theo James (Four ) instructs the whole faction Tris is in and ends up falling in love with her. 

The release date for divergent was March 18th 2014, the had a budget of $85 million but  box sales exceeded the expectation was $288.9 million, it has done well since it's release it has two other movies.

The editing used is a tracking shots 

Auteur theory: Jurassic Park 

Director: Steven Spielberg

Steven spielbergs first ever film he directed was Jaws (1975) and it was a huge challenge as he bought Peter Benchley novels to life. He did run into a few problems such as getting the animontrnic shark to work but water does not mix with electricals, but Spielberg came up with a few solutions which were different and unique from all the other movie makers at their time but he sooned changed and revolutionised the indurty by the way approached the individual scenes and Jaws is such a well known project. This opened up oppurtnities, which then lead to one of his top three greatest movies of all time, Jaws, ET and Micheal Chrintons Jurrasic Park. 

MESONSCENE:

The location of JP was filmed in Hawaill and some was in a studio. Most of it was Pratical effects and on location filming they added  CGI on top of the practical effects to make a realistic and this helps portray to the audiences an audience gratification 

Editing:

To add structure there was a lot of Jump Shots. They used some screen to help get the right angel 

Sound:

There was a lot of mixed animal sound to create the roars of a t-rex and the sound of V-raptor. The sound was mainly non-digetic as it could be in the production (animal sounds 

Camera:
The angels used were low, mid shot and high to see the entire island

Analysis

                                                                Film Analysis

The film I chose is Shrek. Shrek is about Ogar and a donkey on a quest to defeat the evil lord Farquad and rescue the princess. come and watch the lovable green mean fighting machine Shrek?


The Genre Shrek is animation. The sub genre of Shrek is, romance, comedy, children's animation, quest and fantasy. Romance is when Shrek falls in love with the princess, comedy as thats the purpose of donkey, quest as he goes on a quest to find the princess but fantasy as none of this is real is a story expressed though media.

The content of Shrek is that a mean agar learns the error of his ways and learns how to become a better person. this is the moral of the story. Shrek is also meant for escapism and has intertextuality as   it has Disney princess acting less intelligent what they are meant to be.

The narrative of the story is that two completely opposite people fall in love and learn to love there flaws. Also the meaning behind the donkey is to add comedy and fun to all audiences for adults and the children.

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory

Charlie and the Chocolate factory is about a young a boy discovers how the chocolate is made. it has Jonny Depp as Wily Wonker.


The genre of the film is childrens fantasy as there is a lot of animation and dream worlds. Also there is computer generated image (CGI) for example when violet turned purple and was blown up a balloon, as she ate a peace of gum that was not completely ready to be eaten as it was still in testing stage. The sub genre is childrens


The narrative of the story is to show that dreams do come true. It took Charlie three tries to find the golden ticket, the moral of the story is to not give up and carry on. The characters potray this by using facial expressions and body language to get the point across. for example when Willy Wonker shows the five kids into the factory he stands with pride but is nervous as he hasn't let anyone in for thirty years and his face looks nervous but is to scared to this.

Welcome to my blog, my name is Chelsie, I was born on the 18th September 2000 in Mayday Hospital at 5:31 am. I grew up in Purley and have lived there for 12 years. The hobbies I love to do and enjoy is: Photography, Street dance, Tap, Filming, and anything creative. I have always been a very creative person. As I went through school I found this out as I have always struggled with English and Maths.

I started street dance at Star Dance Academy in February10th 2007. I have been a dancer for 10 years, some people I have danced with include: Turbo from Got To Dance, Diversty and twist and pulse.

Other activities I like to do is: go round and take professional photographs, I like to watch youtube as I like to explore how a movie was produced and how it links in with others, I also like to watch Netflix as it takes you to another world. overall I like to do anything creative.

I struggle with English as understanding the content can be difficult but on question 5 paper 1 I am great at creating a new world and transporting a person to an unknown area. I also struggle with maths as it is hard to understand all the concepts and rules for each individual topic.

My favourite tv shows is; Once upon a time as it creates a unique concept on how fairytales are told for example, How Hook is the hero and Peter Pan is the villain but is connected to the Pipe Piper, another show I like to watch is Law and Order Special Victims Unit as it uses intertextuality as it references real life events but exaggerated for safety of others and more enticing for the audience.

My favourite films are Camp Rock 2 with Demi Lovato as she potrays the character really well, I also love her in Princess Protection Program starring along side Selena Gomez, it  is a fantasy world as they only assume what it would be like if a princess did go undercover.

I only listen to two artists as I have grown up with these and have influenced me as a person. Demi Lovato as I connect to her music and it has help me through very tuff times. The other artist is Nick Jonas as he is just good looking.

Overall I am a reliable student, always punctual, respectful and always willing to help others, I love anything creative as I am great at good ideas, I may not excel in academics but creativity is my strongest point.
